Do you think that the highest paid boxers are overpaid?
I think they are. _________________ WIInnipeg.ca - The self proclaimed offical forum of Wii gamers in Winnipeg. |

I suppose they must earn their money or they wouldn't be paid it. As long as enough people pay the money to watch then you can't really argue that they're overpaid. _________________ Talk about the Environment |

Yup... it basically comes down to laws of supply and demand. If they're good, enough people will demand to see them fight. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Camping |

I've always thought that salaries of sports figures in any sport was between them and their employers. There is always somebody saying that so-and-so is overpaid, but I think it's jealousy. Sports franchises make money off the spectators who are willing to pay the high prices to go and see the games, buy the merchandise, etc. A big pool allows big salaries to be paid. If the players and the owners agree then that's their business. _________________ KickNit

The same applies to any business really. Whether it be footballers, boxers, fund managers, singers and actors - so many receive obscene salaries while others struggle by on meagre income. But that's capitalism. _________________ MotleyHealth.com - Get Fit and Lose Weight - What's on in Essex? |

Good point, JonWade. I don't see the point in capping salaries since anyone with a little business sense can set up multiple streams of income and rise above any ceiling. _________________ KickNit

i think although they get high salary but they also have to pay much for that they need. and they get the income by their efforts and even risk their life. so i think they are worth of it. _________________ www.9ico.com

Very high pay, but it's only the boxers at the top of their divisions that make decent money. Also, it's worth taking into account how dangerous the sport is compared to most. There's probably more logic to saying that footballers are overpaid, but again I guess people only get paid the amounts they do, due to the interest their sport generates. _________________ Horse Tips Blog |

Not at all.
Generally both need to be seriously fit and spend alot of time in the gym working out. Now, you and I may think thats not work! But try doing it EVERY day, no breaks at all.
The effort they put into to becoming the best in their field and the amount of pressure put on them to entertain us, plus the fact they are always in the public eye makes their real jobs very difficult.
They definatly earn their money and, imo, anyone who thinks otherwise just can not see the bigger picture of what these people actually do in order to do their jobs. _________________ muscle building |
