Rainer Schoenfelder, the 26-year-old Austrian who broke through this season to win the men's World Cup slalom skiing title, has tested positive for the stimulant Etilefrin. 
Schoenfelder was found to have traces of the stimulant in his blood in a test done during the Austrian slalom championships on March 27. He said he had a bad cold before the race and the abnormal test result must be due to medication he took.
The head of the Austrian Ski Council (OSV), Klaus Leistner, said a ruling was not expected before the end of April. If found guilty, Schoenfelder could be banned from the sport for up to two years.
