North Queensland backrower Sione Faumuina has agreed to join UK Super League outfit Castleford for the 2009 season.

The New Zealand forward, who walked out on Harlequins without playing a game for the club, has negotiated a 12-month deal with the Tigers.

A former Canberra and New Zealand Warriors player who had a three-match stint with Hull in 2007, Faumuina signed a three-year deal with Harlequins in September 2006 but pulled out of it three months later, citing personal reasons.

Now the 27-year-old is willing to return to England after two years in the NRL with the Cowboys.

"I'm very pleased to have got Sione on board for next year," Castleford coach Terry Matterson said.

"He will bring us some real presence. He has the size and skill and plenty of experience at the top level in the NRL.

"When I was at Canberra we tried to bring him back to the club but he opted to stick with the Warriors."

Leeds have 2 good signings from down under -

RHINOS SIGN KIWI TEST STAR

Leeds Rhinos have announced that they have signed New Zealand international Greg Eastwood, 21, from NRL side Brisbane Broncos for the 2009 season on a three year contract.

Eastwood, who was given his debut for New Zealand by now Rhinos boss Brian McClennan, has been an integral part of the Broncos squad this season, playing in all but one game for Wayne Bennett’s side. He scored the match winning try in his side’s extra time win over Gold Coast Titans last Friday and will be part of the New Zealand squad for the forthcoming World Cup in Australia.

Eastwood made his debut in the NRL back in 2005 and has gone on to make 62 appearances for the Broncos, scoring 15 tries. However, 2008 has been his best year to date with four tries in 22 games so far this term. He was born in Auckland but his father is originally from Huddersfield and he featured in the first two Tests against Great Britain in the 2007 Gillette Fusion Test series as well as being a try scorer for the New Zealand All Golds against the Northern Union.

And we have signed fromer Aussie captain Danny Buderus. But what about Diskin at hooker? Diskin is AWESOME! Are we gonna have Diskin on the bench and Buderus on and keep swapping them? I hope so
