Winning the $1 million Hambletonian was not only a big victory for Windsong's Legacy and driver-trainer Trond Smedshammer, it also turned out to be a nice payday for the American Cancer Society.
The charity got a $25,000 donation from the owners of Windsong's Legacy on Saturday after the colt made a three-wide move in the stretch and captured harness racing's biggest trotting's event by a length.
